22.01.2012 Synergy's Alexander Ekimov and Egor Larionov explain what the team is practicing during the ongoing training camp on Lanzarote.
"We continue to improve technical part of teamwork", says trimmer Alexander Ekimov, "This is a fundamental part of the season for the helmsmen and for the crew. During the first part of the camp we consolidate the achievements of previous one, that was held in December. And we work on starts. Also we have new sails that we test. Second part of the camp is devoted to speed practices, as we are going to make the most of our yacht, and match racing with Ed Baird taking the helm".
"We begun to remake our container, it would become even more comfortable to store sails, ropes and other stuff", comments boat captain Egor Larionov, "We installed the air-conditioner, that is capable of dry all the things inside the container. As concerns training, I must say that the weather is beautiful, everyday we experience 8-15 knots of wind. And we spend five hours a day on the water working on maneuvering, hoisting and removing the gennaker, starts. The atmosphere inside the team is positive, we enjoy working together and we have good motivation. We have to find the maximum speed of the yacht, because the season is not far away from beginning. In addition we are going to practice with other teams as well just before the first RC44 regatta of the season".
