Master of Sports, International Class. The founder of ‘Synergy’ team and its captain.
Born on April, 30 in 1963 in a Ukranian city Krivoy Rog. Graduated from Far Eastern Engineering Higher Naval School named after Admiral Nevelskiy. Worked for the Primorskoe Steamship Line, in a joint enterprise ‘Dialogue-Nakhodka’. He was first deputy chairman of Nakhodka city Council of People’s Deputies, financial director of administrative committee of Nakhodka free economic zone. Moved to Moscow in 1994. He was Chairman of the board of directors in Moscow Financial and Investment Co’ joint stock company, was the representative of ‘Auerbach Grayson & Co’, Vice Chairman of the Federal Commission on Securities Market. In 1998 he was appointed Vice Chairman of the RAO ‘UES’ (Russian Joint-Stock Company ‘Unified Energy System of Russia’). In 2001 Valentin Zavadnikov became a representative of the Saratov region in the Council of Federation. In January of 2002 he was appointed Chairman of the Council of Federation Industrial Policy Committee. “There are very few beach people among us. Regatta is a breath of fresh air, extreme, pleasure, the concentration of mind, attention and power at the same time. Practically all people from our team used to live in the Far East and moved to Moscow. Enough time has passed for us to realize that we’re missing the sea. That is how the ‘Synergy’ project has been created. We’ve built the yacht having chosen an adequate project from our point of view, and it has been showing good results so far. It happened so that there are people in the Saratov region, which I represent in the Federation Council, who are engaged in sailing. Pavel GORELOV
Born on July, 26 in 1967 Komsomolsk-on-Amur. In 1991 graduated from Far Eastern State University with engineer-oceanologist qualification. Got optional education in the following fields: corporate management and finance, project management, management, marketing. In 1995-1999 was the General director of investment corporation CJSC ‘Ocean Trust’. In 1999-2000 took up the leading positions in OJSC ‘Dalenergo’ in Vladivostok, in 2001-2002 – in RAO ‘UES’ of Russia in Moscow. In 2002 was appointed for the position of Chairman in OJSC ‘FSK EES’. Supervised elaborating and carrying out the commercial and contract policies of the Committee. Since April, 2005 has been General director of OJSC ‘Energostroyinvest-Holding’. Now he is the Head of the Board of directors of this company.
‘Why am I interested in sailing? I like travelling all over the world a lot. I am fond of extreme active rest and sports since childhood’.
Vladimir SENKO
Born on March, 19, 1972 in Solnechny City of Khabarovsk Region. In 1994 graduated from Far Eastern State Technical University in Vladivostok. Began working from the last year in various fields (building, energetics, finances) in the Far East. Moved to Moscow in 2003, where takes up the post of General director in ‘Glavinvestproject’ Company.
‘I have seen no people who dislike the sea, although I’ve started thinking about it just lately … It’s a funny thing but I left the seaside for Moscow to take up yachting. When you live beside the sea you take hardly any notice of it… and, of course, the most interesting thing is about people. If the boat is surrounded by the waves higher than the vessel, and the wind is tearing the sails apart, you are a long distance away from the seashore and it is physically challenging, everybody is real!’
Vladimir SMYSHLYAEV
Born on June, 4, 1961 in Novosibirsk. Started his work activity in 1978 as a fitter’s apprentice in the Institute of Nuclear Physics Siberian Department of Russian Academy of Science in Novosibirsk. In 2002-2005 studied in the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation. Got optional education in the fields of corporate management, project management, management, marketing. Since 1983 was a student of the Far East State Technical Institute of Fishery and Fish Industry, and afterwards his work was connected with scientific-research fleet up to 1994. Then he took up the leading positions dealing with financial activity such as building and energetic. Since June, 2003 he has been General Director of OJSC ‘Spetssetstroy’ and the member of board of OJSC ‘Energostroyinvest-Holding’. Now he is general director of 'Carista' company.
‘I’m a sailor by nature and it wasn’t in vain that I became a student of the Far East State Technical Institute of Fishery and Fish Industry. I was beckoned by sea romantics, enigmas of the mysterious underwater world. It happened so that after 7-year work on boards of different vessels for Pacific Ocean fishing research organization I accepted an offer of a different so to say ‘land’ work. Now I work in Moscow far away from the boundless expanses of the ocean, but the soul of a real sailor will always find an opportunity to touch the sea element. That is what interests me most in this sailing project. Of course one of the most important things in this project is the joy of socializing with interesting people, who have not only formed the sailing team but have also become like-minded people in work and rest. Besides, sport is a guarantee of health. As I person who spends much time at work, I’m in need of moving activities, my organism demands adrenalin. And a yachtsman is the one who gets it in full. To sum it up, yachting is romantics, moving, socializing, and all of these is life!’
Mikhail TUZOV
Got basic education in the field of Projecting Systems in Moscow Energetic Institute. After that his biography takes a drastic turn – post graduate course in Moscow State University specializing in ‘Philosophy and Methodology in Science’. Created and supervised HR-agency of ‘Alpha-Bank’ for several years, worked as a HR-manager for ‘MENATEP’ bank and ‘ROSPROM’ (management consulting). Then goes the period of work in JSC RAO ‘UES of Russia’ – the project of Federal Unified Energy System creation. Since 2002 has been Vice-Chairman of the JSC RAO ‘UES’ (Unified Energy System of Russia).
‘I like very much all the manifestations of water element in nature – storm, thunderstorm. I believe that the open sea relieves the soul of the fuss and teaches a real freedom. Despite the fact that in comparison to motoracing (which I like very much) sailing is considered to be less extreme, but there is as much romantics and adrenalin in it from the tactical fight on the distance. Besides, I want our team to lead in the largest regattas gaining Russia the authority of ‘Naval Power’ once again.
