15.05.2012 Third regatta of the RC44 Championship Tour-2012 begins in two weeks.
Another RC44 event will be hosted by Gmunden, Austria, from May 30 to June 3. The regatta will be sailed on Lake Traunsee. It is the sole non-seaside event of the series. This factor combining with tricky weather and wind conditions due to special position of the lake and the mountains nearby makes racing at the RC44 Austria Cup truly unique.
The upcoming regatta is tenth for Synergy in the RC44 Championship Tour. The Russian team, which won match racing gold and fleet racing bronze at the latest event in Cascais, actively prepares for the RC44 Austria Cup.
Synergy's crew starts preparing the yacht on May 16.
13.05.2012 Artemis Racing won sprint race in Venice with a finish at St Mark's Square at the Arzana City of Venice Trophy.
Arzana City of Venice Trophy is the prologue for America's Cup World Series event. The competition commenced on Saturday, May 12. Three races have been held in light conditions of around 5 knots. Luna Rossa Piranha won all of them.
Today wind increased up to 20 knots. Tough weather conditions forced the organizers to cancel both offshore fleet races. So only one race has been staged, it started in the Lido of Venice and finished at St Mark's Square, which was full of thousands of fans.
Artemis Racing captured the victory, beating both Luna Rossa's trimarans in close race. The Swedish crew claimed third place in one of yesterday's races.
"We didn't have a nice start in sprint", says Terry Hutchinson, the helmsman of Artemis, "But we found reset button just in time. We got a little puff of wind at the end".

America's Cup World Series regatta is scheduled for May 15-20 in Venice.
08.05.2012 New Synergy’s Melges32 yacht will be completed at One Design shipyard, which is based in Celle Ligure.
“This yard works with Melges class in Europe”, says Synergy’s Andrei Litsinsky, who is responsible for the yacht’s completion, “The class’ rules don’t allow to change a configuration of a yacht after it has been built. But European specialists has a ton of experience of working and maintaining of these yachts and they know very well how to improve running and standing rigging, blocks, winches, decks and so on. All these details should bring a result. We are trying to make Synergy’s yacht as good as the best in the class”.
Synergy will start training on the new yacht from June 5 on Sardinia. The Russian team plans to make a debut in Melges32 at the European Championship, that will be held in Porto Cervo from June 28 to July 1.
06.05.2012 Synergy will get new Melges32 yacht on Tuesday, May 8, and then it will be assembled.
Special logos will be put on her sails in near future. Synergy is going to take part in prestigious European circuit Audi Sailing Series and in American Melges32 regattas.
Synergy will make a debut in Melges32 at the European Championship in Porto Cervo (June 28 - July 1). The Russian crew begins practices on new yacht on June 5 on Sardinia.

Synergy captured main prizes in her history (win in match racing and third place in fleet racing at RC44 regatta in Cascais (March 28 - April 1, 2012) and third place in match racing in Puerto Calero (February 8-12, 2012) with direct participation of Leonid Lebedev, helmsman of the Russian crew's yacht. He is well-known for his offensive racing tactics, which often help to get wins and top places.
Participation in sailing project is not the first experience of Leonid Lebedev in professional sports. A few years ago he founded automobile team Ford GT, which is built as the world's best teams.

24.04.2012 Synergy continues preparation for the RC44 Austria Cup.
The Russian team's RC44 class yacht has been delivered to Austria. She will be moved to technical zone on May 15-17, and then personnel will make her ready for the competition.
Synergy's yachtsmen use a break between RC44 Championship Tour's events to practice before summer season and participate in Russian and international regattas, including starts in Italy, Hong Kong, Turkey, Cyprus, Japan and Korea.
"Every crew member has his own schedule of regattas and practices", says Synergy's Alexander Ekimov. "It is approved by team's management, because sportsmen have to maintain a good shape. To do so, they have to race and practice on regular basis".
The RC44 Austria Cup will be staged in Gmunden on May 30 - June 3.

The Russian sailing team made a debut in this prestigious international series in RC44 class in December 2010 in Miami. In 2011 Synergy participated in six regatta and won 15 match races.
Synergy captured three trophies at the 2012 season's two regattas. The crew won match racing in Cascais and had two bronzes (in match racing in Puerto Calero and in fleet racing in Cascais).

15.04.2012 Artemis Racing won match racing part of the America's Cup World Series' regatta in Naples.
Fourth event of the America's Cup World Series-2011/12 is over. It was staged in Naples on April 11-15. A total of nine teams competed for titles in both match and fleet racing in very exciting conditions. They also completed 500 m speed trials.
Artemis has become a champion in match racing, despite the fact that the Swedish team was forced to start from Qualifier. Torbjorn Tornqvist's crew beat China Team, Emirates Team New Zealand, Luna Rossa - Swordfish and Luna Rossa - Piranha on the way to the title.

Meanwhile, Luna Rossa - Piranha was first in fleet racing. Oracle Racing - Bundock reached 20,43 knots in speed trials to win it.
Next America's Cup World Series' regatta is set to be staged in Venice on May 15-20.
15.04.2012 Synergy's yachtsman Alexander Ekimov says that Melges32 is a very interesting, exciting and promising class. The Russian team makes a debut there at European Championship (Porto Cervo, June 28 - July 1).
"This class is on rise. Up to 30 yachts participate in regattas, which feature the world's best sailors, as in RC44", says Alexander. "Melges32 is a dynamic and modern class, it has convenient logistics".
"The crew consists of 7-8 yachtsmen, total weight's limit is 629 kg", adds Ekimov. "Team's owner has to be a helmsman. The crew has to have 3 professionals, others should be amateurs. I believe, Synergy has a very good potential in the class. We've got harmonious and well-organized team. I'm happy that Synergy is set to become the first team to represent Russia in Melges32".
Synergy will take part in three Melges32 regattas in 2012: in Porto Cervo (European Championship, June 28 - July 1), Naples (fifth event of the Audi Sailing Series, October 19-21) and Fort Lauderdale (Gold Cup, November 30 - December 2).
